Betrayal of Our Children

The world is a dangerous and treacherous place for children. Assuming you are one of the"lucky ones", and not among the millions of babies who don't get a pass through the birth canal, but are instead, poisoned or yanked half-way out of the womb, only to have their brains sucked out by a vacuum cleaner, and discarded, perhaps saving the good bits to sell at fair market price - but assuming you are one of the lucky ones who have a chance, slim though it may be, to get to use the body God has given you, things can still go horribly wrong.

Children die in the millions every year from disease and poverty - indifference and neglect. Others never get the nurturing necessary to survive in an unforgiving world. And if you're born female, the odds go down even further. Untold thousands of little girls are often forced into slavery, or prostitution, often even before menarche. Boys are sometimes forced to go to war which they in no way understand - still they are forced to carry an AK-47, and are expected to use it. And they come away bearing the scars of battle. The Islamists teach their children to hate, which leaves another kind of scar.

But don't blame God for this injustice. God suffers in agony at each blow, each hurtful word, each indignity and pain these little ones are forced to endure. It is Man who has chosen to turn his back on the helpless. It is Man who has lost his compassion, and it is Man who will be called into full account for his shameful treatment of God's children.

Not all wars show the scars of battles. Some wars are fought using children as pawns of expediency, such as the current war by the Hegelian/Gramscian/Leftist political ideologues, who are putting John Dewey's ideas of relative moral-ism into the classroom and curricula of our children's schools. Dewey's ideas on Pragmatism have evolved over the past 50 years into a new religion, called the Church of Secular Humanism. This war is now being waged in the classrooms all across America. It is a war in which the children are the ultimate losers, because the goal is to render them incapable of rational, reasoned thought.

Why do this? The reason is simple. The Leftists are replacing "old" patriotic ideas with "new" ideas receptive to a world government. And they are doing it in the classroom. They have come to believe that this will bring about world peace. I'm not making this up. This war is being waged with the full participation of our government, through the administrative agencies and in cooperation with the National Education Association. The Bilderbergers are chortling with glee at the way Americans are simply lying down and taking this. It has been a carefully orchestrated betrayal of America.

I believe if more American parents understood the ramifications and travesty of post-modern "progressivism" in education, there would be blood flowing in the streets. For those of us who haven't been brainwashed by the Hegelian/Gramscian/NEA Leftists (a redundancy I can live with), we had better take this matter to heart. It is, the old cliché goes, serious as cancer. Your children's future and America's future as well, hangs in the balance.

It is no longer sufficient to just home school your own children. If you can home school, that's wonderful. But for the majority of parents, that's not feasible or even advisable. It is the majority of parents and children who are prey to the secular humanists goal: to render the young incapable of reasoned thought. And they have no idea of the stakes of this war.

It is right and the duty of the ones who do know, to tell the others.

Hillbilly White Trash: Carnival of Homeschooling

I haven't written much about homeschooling, although I know some readers are doing that for their kids. I haven't written about it, because I don't know a lot about it. But when I see what a singular disaster "public education" has become, I take heart when I read an article by someone who does:

Raised in the South, I went to segregated schools. To do otherwise would have been unthinkable in my day. Our teachers were committed people who knew their respective subjects. The PC agenda was yet to be born. So I had a good, down-to-earth education. They didn't grade on the curve. Here's the way the grades broke down, from Junior High through High School: A = 93-100; B= 86-92; C=79-85; D=70-78. Anything under a score of 70 earned you an F. No exceptions.

If you got an ass-whupping from the principal or one of your teachers, and your Daddy found out about it, it meant you got a 2nd ass-whupping - for getting the first whupping. It was tough on the tookus, but on the other hand, we knew where the lines of authority lay. We not often tempted to challenge them. We knew what was expected from us, and what would happen if we fell short. But, aside from that, we had pretty much full reign over our lives - within reason.

By the time I had a child, I was living in Manhattan, and was able to send her to a fancy East-Side private girls' school. Actually, it was her mother who arranged all that. I made a decision to leave all that up to her capable hands. In hind-sight I wished I hadn't done that, and I urge fathers today to take a hand in your child's education. Ask them what they did today, and listen to the answer. You might be surprised.

I hadn't any connection with public schools beyond my High School days. That is, until I semi-retired and decided to substitute teach in the public school system in New Jersey. It was a shock. It was bedlam, in the old sense of the word. Chaos. I remember thinking - Peter Sellers in "Being There". This is insane, it's a public school. Where are the parents? Why aren't they speaking out about this? That was when I discovered the much deeper problems in the homes of these kids.

Some of them are 3rd generation welfare recipients; ie, grandparents never held a job, parents never held a job. Many are being raised by their grandmother, who is sometimes herself an addict. Drugs take their lives away. The fathers split first, followed by the mothers (in a different direction, of course) - so the grandmother is left to do the job. Some do it admirably. Some do it begrudgingly, having held out some hope of a life themselves, but are now tied down by one, two, sometimes three kids. Education? They haven't a clue. Some grandparents have become hostages to the teenagers in their own home. I also remember thinking: the family unit has become unglued.

In a short 45 years time, how low the standards and expectations have sunk. I wondered, why and by whom? Having devoted hours a day, 7 days a week for the past six months, catching up on what I have ignored for many years, I have a few answers to those questions. As to alternatives, home-schooling wasn't even in my vocabulary. So I turn to those who do, and will try to identify those who are strong, have faith in America.

When faced with the evil, narcissistic self-loathing of the Leftists who have not only stymied public education in America today, but have made sure that it is hobbled beyond repair - when faced with entrenched cultural relativists, home-schooling is one of the last rational approaches to educating your child. Better to have no education, than to deliver them into vile clutches of the NEA. Politicians simply allow this to happen; as America becomes adrift, the would-be "saviors", ie, the Elitists of the Left, fan the flame of diversity, knowing that a society which no longer identifies with the self-defining elements will weaken and fall.

Enter the Islamists. So now we have a determined effort from within and without to destroy America and her values. What I see rising to meet the evil is an assortment of conservatives, libertarians, and just plain ornery people like myself, who don't like what they see and are determined to do something about it. I don't fit into any category that I've seen. Maybe that's for the best.

Today I work as a volunteer in a K-12 school for disabled. I love it.

Our Shrinking Liberties

Our liberties, personal and otherwise are shrinking daily, hourly. Almost anyone in a position of power is working to limit our freedom. And that's not going to change. Politicians are working in concert with the Administrative and Judicial branch, creating laws which have as their goal to restrict our speech, to restrict our freedom to raise our children, to restrict how we think, speak and act. It is the Humanist's dream to deny us the right in short, to act in accord with Judeo-Christian values. And to the extent that many of us were not brought up at least to try to follow the 10 Commandments, they have already largely succeeded.The Cultural Relativists are laying down a totalitarian vise which no one in America, let alone the world can escape. The Cultural Relativist's aim to put our future in the hands of a few elitists is achieved by creating and spreading notions of moral doubt and confusion. Since the sixties, obedience to impulse has been encouraged in order to dilute the concept of right action. Irony of ironies, we have become more 'tolerant' only to end up losing our freedom. The notion of tolerance, as defined by 'do your own thing', Herbert Marcuse (Eros of Civilization) - is that anything coming from the Left is good, anything coming from the Right is bad and not to be tolerated.

In our K-12 school system the 'No Child Left Behind' policy of the Bush Administration has been diabolical and disastrous. They first set up impossible goals to achieve test results, then they never got around to provide funding, while at the same time holding a sword over the heads of school administrators. This leaves them no choice but to try to teach students how to take a test, leaving aside just about everything of importance in a child's education. Hell, even the NEA is opposed to it (!) and considers it an unworkable way to blackmail school administrators.

In our universities there have been unprecedented pressures brought to bear upon college students to kowtow to the Leftist ideology, and to buck the saddle is to risk being labeled 'racist' or 'homophobe', Islamophobe, etc. Students are forced make ideological decisions before all the facts are considered. To be even once so labeled means one can no longer be a member of the cultural elite. There is no option for redemption save abject, debasing apologies to the offended parties. Apologies which almost certainly will not be accepted, because by your act of insensitivity, you will have shown yourself to not be one of them, ergo, a piece of crap. The Left's war on academic freedom is relentless, and the message is clear: (If you are white) NEVER cross the line of offending the Multicultural Victim's Feelings. It is simply inexcusable. To show them the error of their ways, anyone who dares cross that line in the name of freedom of speech, there is a 'sensitivity' re-education class. It's not optional.

The Nanny State, engorging its bloated self on the fruits of labor (by unfair taxation) of the People, daily grows bigger, more powerful, less prone to self-correct. We are rendered powerless by a taxation system administered by a corrupt system of government, and yet many believe it to be just. It is not just. America's citizens are being reduced to living in a Welfare State, or in the ever-growing prisons. This is as the elites would have it. A populace kept at the edge of existence is easy to dominate and control. The power elites don't want people properly educated. They can get people with the skills needed to implement their designs. Just import them. Why raise up a nation of men and women able to think for themselves? Too hard to control.

As an example, currently, there is a concerted attack on freedom of expression in the form of 'Hate laws'. Rep. Keith Ellison, in concert with CAIR and the ACLU, will in the coming months and years, do his best to make it a crime to confront the radical Islamists as they begin to insinuate themselves in a position to realize their dream of an Islamic Caliphate in the world. By exploiting our legislative and justice system and using the Leftist tool of 'Multiculturalism', they will try to tie the hands of students, parents and right-minded Americans, making it impossible to stop them by legal means. By whatever means, they must be stopped. Frankly, as important as it is to fight the Islamists, I consider the threat of an Islamic Caliphate to be of secondary importance to that of stopping the take-over of our government by the governing elite. Government has taken on a new persona in the past 30 years, which is becoming a mouthpiece for the 'New World Order' which President George Bush, and his father before him have laid out, and which Orwell and Huxley and CS Lewis The Abolition of Man warned us about way back when.

Illegal immigrants have been allowed to swarm our land because the plan is to eliminate the border anyway.

Time to turn off the TV, folks. There's work to be done.
